How To Be Prepared: Emergency Preparedness Kit Giveaway

by How To Mommy on 02.27.12

This is a sample kit. Actual kit may vary.

Ever since our little girls were born, healthy lifestyles have been of the upmost importance to my husband and I.

We also try to be as prepared as we can for any unforseen events that may cause a hardship to our families (life insurance, living will, etc).

When I was told about Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) I was really impressed.

BCHD is the largest preventive health agency in the nation, and has served the communities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach since 1955. It also funds a lot of programs for the local schools including obesity, anti-bullying and physical education programs.

One thing they offer is a Family Emergency Preparedness Kit for the residents of their area. This kit includes:

  • 1 – Red Backpack
  • 2 – Food bar packets (for three days, 4,800 total calories, five-year shelf life)
  • 1 – Hygiene kit (tissues, towelettes, hazardous waste bags)
  • 6 – Water boxes (50.7 ounces, five-year shelf-life)
  • 2 – Emergency blankets
  • 1 – 33-piece medical kit
  • 1 – First-aid, CPR and choking guide
  • 1 – Flashlight with alkaline batteries
  • 1 – 12-hour light stick
  • 2 – Adult ponchos
  • 1 – Whistle

Since my guess is most of us don’t live in the Hermosa Beach area, one of my lucky readers can win the Emergency Preparedness Kit {a $42 value}! Just follow the super easy Rafflecopter instructions below. The first two entries are mandatory, but complete as many additional options for more chances to win!
