How To Drink Your Veggies: Juicing

by How To Mommy on 04.04.12

My husband recently read a book, Juicing, Fasting and Detoxing for Life, about the benefits of juicing and we decided to invest in one.

I can’t believe how great the juices are tasting, even chock full of vegetables!

I love that we can get our daily intake of vegetables just by drinking a glass or two of juice that we made.  I don’t feel bad letting the girls drink it either, because I know exactly what’s in it.  Just fresh vegetables and fruit, with nothing artifical!

I know that juicing {and juicers} are becoming increasingly popular, so I thought I would share our favorite recipe:

Spinach Apple Juice

  • 2 green apples
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 3 to 4 huge handfuls of spinach leaves

Just put the ingredients in the juicer and you’re all set!

It’s best to drink the juice fresh, but you can keep it in an airtight, opaque container for up to 24 hours if you need to.

Do you juice?  If so, what are your favorite “recipes”?

You guys should watch the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead! It’s about juicing and how it saved a guys life and then he was passing it forward! It’s wonderful…and the reason I started juicing!

I think my husband did see that one. I’ll have to look into it too.

That sounds so delicious and can’t wait until we get a juicer so we can trade recipes 🙂
