How To Get Healthy By Blasting Fat Faster

Welcome to week three of my “How To Get Healthy” series.  If you haven’t read How To Drop 5 Pounds and How To Stress Less, make sure you do.  There’s some great tips!

I’m now six weeks into my third attempt at Weight Watchers.  I have to say, this time appears to be different.  I’m seeing results, I’m loving the gym, and I’m feeling motivated.

However, I’m sure the day is soon coming where my 2 lbs a week turn into .2 lbs.  In order to break through these plateaus, I learned some great ways to “blast fat faster” from Good Housekeeping’s 100 Ways to Get Healthy.

I hope you find these five tips as useful as I did!

How To Blast Fat Faster

  1. Burn fat by walking 30 minutes a day, four times a week. {Imagine the extra burn from pushing those monstrous strollers!}  Regular exercise can make your RealAge as much as 9 years younger!
  2. Give your workout a boost. A study from the University of North Carolina says people who exercise at high levels (walking 75 minutes a day, rather than 30, for example) are better at keeping off weight.
  3. Do something you love! It’s been shown that it’s easier to stick to a fitness program if you’re doing something love, such as swimming or bike riding.
  4. Boost your metabolism. Denise Austin has a great plan to help you boost your energy while dropping fat.
  5. Change your temperature. Lowering the temperature in your house makes you shiver, which burns fat and calories and boosts metabolism.  Your body does the same thing when it tries to cool down after being over heated.   Check out Bikram Yoga {yoga practiced in a room heated to 105 degrees and 40% humidity} or go for an early {chilly} morning jog.
