I’ve just completed my first two day juice cleanse.
As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I recently bought a juicer and are trying to use this as a way to improve our health and up our intake of fresh fruits and vegetables we may not get otherwise.
For example, last night for “dinner” I had kale, red chard, carrots, spinach, beets, limes and ginger. And you know what, it wasn’t too bad!
I’ll admit that I’m very glad the cleanse we decided upon wasn’t longer than two days because I’m more than excited for my favorite smoothie for breakfast tomorrow!
Next week we are embarking on a nine day colon cleanse. At first, I thought my husband was a little crazy so I had to do some investigation.
I found a really great article on the pros and cons of cleanses, and it helped me see that the way we are doing it is the right way.
We’ve not subscribed to some company to send us pre-made shakes or trying to survive on lemon, water and cayenne pepper for 10 days. Instead, we’re using organic, fresh produce to make healthy juices and combining that with other whole foods (apples, berries, nuts, etc.) as recommended by Juicing, Fasting and Detoxing for Life.
I’m really scared, but excited, at the prospect of what the colon cleanse can do for us and how much better we’ll feel after! I’ll update you in a few weeks as to the results.
