More specifically, how to run 50 miles. In one day. In the mountains.  Without stopping.

My friend just ran the Leadville Silver Rush 50 mile trail race in Colorado.

She amazes me in every possible way. Her physical and mental strength is something I would kill for. I find her account of the race awe inspiring. Learn all about her journey here.

I’m in the midst of my own 50 journey.  I hope to have lost 50 pounds by next spring.  I’m halfway there.

While it may not be done in 12 hours or extreme elevations, it is my Silver Rush.  And it is taking a lot of dedication and strength.  Though sometimes, I am in need of something to keep me going.

Whenever I need inspiration, I will certainly turn to Jody and her story.

I’m wanting to build up to running. Right now a neighbor and I are walking several times a night. Tonight I’m on my own and hoping that I will have the motivation to get out there and do it even though I’m by myself. I plan to crank the Ipod up and just enjoy the weather.
