A friend of mine is starting her own Etsy shop for making bows {more on that later} so I got to thinking I should be able to make them too, right?
Eh…easier said then done.
But, for my first attempt it wasn’t too shabby. So if you’re feeling crafty, here are the steps.
How To Make a Bow {The Triple Stack}
- 3 feet of ribbon
- Scissors
- Needle and thread
- Aligator clip
- Hot glue gun
- No Fray solution
- Buttons {optional}
What You Do
- Cut 3 pieces of ribbon to equal lengths {the pamplet suggests 18 inches. I think that’s too long, 12-15 is fine.}

- Make one piece into a figure 8

- Run a needle and thread through the center to cinch the “8″ into place

- Do the steps 3 and 4 for the next two pieces

- Arrange the three bows on top of each other

- Tie an extra piece into a french knot

- Place the knot in the center of the bow and hot glue in the back

- Cover the alligator clip with fabric if desired

- Hot glue the alligator clip to the back of the bow

- Ta-da! You have a bow!

It’s not the greatest bow I’ve ever seen, but my girls are cute enough, they can pull it off.
I even tried another.
I’m glad I am able to say I did it, but as soon as my friend’s Etsy shop is open, I’ll probably be getting all of my bows there from now on!
