I don’t know about you, but by around 5:00, my kid is going crazy. And so am I! There’s still 2 hours before bedtime, not enough time for a nap, and Emily is decidedly unhappy unless she’s right next to mommy. Of course, that’s when I need to be getting dinner together, setting the table, and getting things done in the kitchen… all of which I cannot do if I’m sitting on the floor trying to entertain my cranky 10-month-old.

Enter the One Step Ahead Ultimate Soft and Safe Baby Bath Seat.

We received this bath seat as a gift, and it is a total lifesaver. It’s got 4 suction cups on the bottom so it does not slide around, it has foam on the seat and the back so it’s comfy, and it has a bar that comes up and locks in place so my sweet girl can’t escape. Totally well-made.

Those are the logistics, but let me tell you why it saves my life. This seat is the ultimate baby calmer! 5:00 rolls around, tired and cranky Emily emerges, and I whip out the bath seat. I’ve always bathed Emily in the kitchen sink, so I fill one side of the sink, suction that seat down, stick her in it, and MAGIC! She is immediately happy, accompanied by Rubber Duckies 1 and 2, and she splashes around and plays to her heart’s content. This often looks like chewing the heads off of the rubber duckies, but hey, whatever works. And seriously, she will stay happy in this seat for anywhere from 30-60 minutes. Not that I would know.

Meanwhile, I can actually get stuff done in the kitchen – important stuff like unload and load the dishwasher, prep dinner, cook dinner, and make funny faces at my smiley baby. By the time Hubby gets home, dinner is ready, Emily is clean and happy, and I look like Wonder Woman! It’s a win-win.

I recommend this seat to all my mommy friends. We use it every single day. It is the one baby item that I just could not live without! A BIG thanks to The How To Mommy for letting me share!

Great idea so you can stay productive while your baby is having some “her time” in the warm water.
Maybe you should send this blog into the company who makes this bath seat so they know your happy with it.

Thanks for posting, Kayse! Looks like a great seat! If only they made a magic toddler seat for my cranky-in-the-afternoon 20 month old 🙂
